Job Description

Allied Universal is looking to hire an Account Manager. Account Manager jobs at Allied Universal are accountable for day-to-day operations of an assigned account, including hiring, training, disciplining and terminating staff. Build, improve and maintain relationships with clients and employees: develop & retain staff; coordinate needed support services and solve problems to effectively run the account. Meet or exceed financial & operational goals; provide quality customer service. Maintains or oversees maintenance of weekly operating schedules and completion of payroll for assigned security personnel. Provides after-hour emergency response as required. To support and ensure success in this role, we provide a comprehensive, week-long management onboarding course designed to provide best practices, tools and guidance.

Salaried - $125,000 annually

Essential Functions

  • Supervise the day to day security operations of an assigned client site
  • Manage a team of security officers, site and/or shift supervisors including hiring/selection, scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, development and support
  • Ensure the client site is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property
  • Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both client and employees
  • Coordinate necessary support services to effectively manage client site to meet or exceed financial and operational goals and provide quality customer service

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensuring execution and delivery of service requirements in compliance with the Company Master Service Agreement (MSA) and Statement of Work (SOW); regularly conducts audits to ensure compliance with the MSA and SOW.
  • Meeting regularly with Client and provider management representatives for account reviews; addressing any actual or potential problems; assisting in preparation of RFP responses; providing support during Client start-ups and transitions; supporting security planning, assessments, and surveys; coordinating review and update of national/global and local post orders; ensuring contract compliance throughout the entire portfolio.
  • Coordinating and performing Security Risk Reviews of Client facilities using industry best practices and Client specific assessment tools; implementing and managing global safety programs; coordinating with Client to support special events or emergency coverage as needed.
  • Assisting Client in evaluation of national/global security needs and determines feasibility of delivery of requested or desired service; demonstrates understanding of and ability to operate in global business environment.
  • Innovating to improve current working practices, products, and technologies to provide business opportunities and results; achieving results by setting goals using quality planning, analysis, and decision making; taking initiative to identify current and potential problems and determining the best solution.
  • Serving as a key point of contact to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service for assigned account; evaluating service quality and initiating any necessary communication and/or corrective action in a timely manner.
  • Initiating, coordinating, and assuming responsibility for benchmarking and the identification of cost saving practices throughout the Client's account.
  • Implementing security industry “best practices;" Works with branch and Client site management to standardize processes, practices, and service delivery for the account.
  • Implementing key performance measures, track tools, scorecards, and reporting methods in cooperation with branch, site, and Client security representatives to enhance security team effectiveness and performance.
  • Providing national/global management oversight for the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development, and retention of high caliber employees; ensuring that each staff member is treated with dignity and respect; plans, assigning, and directing work; providing performance feedback, coaching associates, and carrying out disciplinary actions, as necessary; supporting staff as appropriate in carrying out their respective responsibilities.
  • Providing oversight of site account managers/supervisors in other regions for the delivery of high-quality service consistently in all Client locations.
  • Participating in budget preparation process and tracks expenses against approved budgets.
  • Maintaining a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; ensures that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Reviewing appropriate expenditures including equipment, supplies, and vehicles; ensure invoices are correct, delivered and paid in a timely manner, within scope of contract and assigned duties,
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels, in collaboration with area management as necessary; ensures scheduling is handled effectively to meet Client's requirements while controlling labor costs.
  • Providing input to Client's initiatives; promptly assists in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.
  • Building and facilitating teamwork and partnerships and the implementation of progressive change.
  • Performing additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in national/global account management preferably within a global corporate security organization, and progressively responsible experience in the security management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation or Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation desirable.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and comply with regulations, correspondence as well as complete forms and reports as required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications, to include Word, Excel, Power Point, etc;
  • Proven regional, national and/or global account management experience;
  • Ability to builds effective relationships through positive communication that motivates and influences others;
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly complex, diverse, changing environment;
  • Ability to effectively plan, budget, track, and evaluate performance of his/her business area;
  • Ability to manage security operations at multiple sites dispersed over a wide geographic area;
  • Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures; and
  • Ability to facilitate progressive change, take initiative and achieve results.
